Kindergarten News
                                  Miss Gregoire’s Class

What an exciting two weeks we have had!  We celebrated our 100th and 101st day of school!  
                           Reading/Language Arts
 This week, we studied the letters  “Qq” and "Uu".  "Qq" and "Uu" are best friends!  "Uu" always follows "Qq".  We brainstormed words that start with "Qu" in addition to words that start with "Uu".    We talked about words in the "ug" word family.  We read a  poem and discussed patterns in rhyming words.  Moreover, we wrote rhyming "ug" sentences of our own.
Next week, we will study the letters "Jj” and "Vv".  
Each day, we work on written expression.  This week, we made pictures of ourselves sleeping under a quilt.  We drew a "dream bubble"  We then discussed how to write a good story with a begining, middle, and end.  We worked hard on these all week and they came out great! 
                                  Math
In Math, we are working on number sense.  This unit involves counting, number words, ordinal numbers, equal sharing, more than/less than.   Be sure to ask your child what he/she learned in his/her Math class this week!
                                 Odds and Ends
Help! We are running low on white copy paper!  If you are able to, please consider donating a pack of white copy paper to our class!  We would be so appreciative!
Science Day was tons of fun!  Our experiments included: Volcanoes, Popper Toppers, and Static Electricity.  To conclude our experiments, we got a little sticky and made flubber!  Students had tons of fun getting their hands dirty!
On February 23rd, we will be going on a field trip to the GA Aquarium.  Permission slips are in your child's Friday Folder.  Please be sure to sign the slip and send it in, along with the money, as soon as possible.
